Needs for Campers

Below are items that are always helpful in service to our Homeless neighbors. Please make sure that all items are clean, socks have matching partners and food is in unopened containers. Clothes should be comfy and casual, please no dress shoes or dress clothes. Email if you have questions on any items for donation.

General housing needs:

  • Tents

  • Sleeping bags

  • Blankets

  • Towels

  • Pillows

  • Sleeping pads


Camping gear: 

  • Camping stoves and pots

  • Headlamps and flashlights

  • Lanterns

  • Propane fuel in green camping containers

  • Sleeping pads and cots


Clothing: please make sure clothes are clean, used is just fine. DRESS CLOTHES ARE NOT NEEDED.

  • Underwear, new only, please (women’s s/m, men’s m/l): men prefer cotton boxer briefs

  • Socks for men and women, matching, if used

  • Long underwear, winter only

  • Women’s pants and stretch pants

  • Women’s seasonally appropriate shirts

  • Women’s sweaters and hoodies (M-XL)

  • Men’s pants (30-38 waist)

  • Men’s shirts/t-shirts (M-XXL)

  • Men’s hoodies (L-XXL)

  • Jackets (rain, warm) for men and women (in winter)

  • Shoes, with laces and in good condition (no dress shoes)

  • Shorts, summer only

Food and supplies:

  • Clean gallon milk jugs filled with water

  • Non-perishable food (fruit, snacks, canned vegetables, jerky, granola, bars)

  • Ready to eat meals, nonperishable

  • Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D)


Hygiene:

  • First Aid kits

  • Toothbrushes

  • Toothpaste

  • Toilet paper

  • Baby wipes

  • Deodorant

  • Small packs of Qtips

  • Brushes and combs

  • Travel-sized toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, soap

  • Mouthwash

NON PERISHABLE FOODS

These are items I leave with people, in addition to a hot meal. These items should be easy to eat (no cooking facilities), open without a can opener and soft (lots of dental issues)

-Canned fruit (with pull tops)

-Canned vegetables (with pull tops)

-Beverages: gatorade, juices, sodas

-Granola bars/bars of any sort

-Oatmeal, instant

-Chips or popcorn

-Any stew or hearty item (with pull tops)

-Cookies, crackers, chips and snacks

-Nuts

-Dried fruit

-Sippable vegetables (like for little kids)

-Applesauce (no glass)

-Candy (big sweet teeth out there!)

-Nut butter (no glass)

-Jelly (no glass)

-Honey

-Shelf-stable milk (dairy and non-dairy- not powdered, please)

-Powdered chocolate milk mix

-Instant soups and foods (ramen is a favorite)
